As certain marine fendering systems are generally assembled with frontal frame to reduce the surface pressure acted on the large vessels’ shipboard therefore they are more complicated in stucture than the traditional fender system in general purpose. The fender system will lose its protective function for ship safety berthing in case the structure was damaged. So regular inspection is compulsory to be carried out for the marine fendering system for long term safety operation purpose.

When first ship berthing operation begins after the installation of marine fendering system, the inspection shall be carried out each time after berthing of the first three ships and then monthly inspection conducted.

Inspection Scope:

1. Check the foot bolts for fender body installation and the bolts for fastening the front panel and fasten them enough in case of any loose and then fix the fastening bolt and panel by spot welding.

2. Check the fender body to see if any break or cut. Please contact us immediately if any breaks are found.

3. Check the frontal panel to see if any dent, crack or corrosion occurs. If yes, please contact us. Annual anticorrosion treatment should be carried out to the frontal panel in avoid of rusting.

4. Check the frontal panel to see if any inclination occurs. The material accumulation in the inner part of frontal panel will easily cause frontal inclination, so the they should be cleaned as much as possible.

5. Check the facing pad to see if any scratching or compression damage occurs. If so, the facing pad should be replaced as soon as possible.

6. Check the concrete structure where the fendering system are installed to see if any crack exists. If so, please contact relevant department immediately for treatment.

7. Check the rubber elastic parts for suspending the frontal panel to ensure they are under proper condition. If any damages please replace them as soon as possible.
